Built for creators
by creators.
Zophous started with a simple obsession: why does creating viral content take so long? We built the tool we wished existed.
We believe every creator deserves access to the same editing power that big studios have. AI should do the grunt work. You should focus on creating.
— The Zophous Team
Principles we don't compromise on
Simplicity First
We strip away complexity so creators can focus on what they do best: creating. Every feature earns its place.
Speed is a Feature
Waiting kills momentum. We obsess over making Zophous faster at every step, from upload to export.
Creator-Led
We build with creators, not for them. Every decision starts with the question: does this make a creator's life easier?
Radical Transparency
We share our roadmap, our mistakes, and our wins openly. Trust is built through honesty, not polish.
Hi, I'm Daniel McCord.
I started Zophous because when I was beginning my entrepreneurial journey, I had no idea where to start. There was no guide. I didn't even know what a business plan was. I paid for that with time and money. That experience led me to build something that could help people become entrepreneurs if they had the desire, but not the roadmap to get there.
Naturally, any new business needs tools to stand out. So I began building social media marketing tools, giving aspiring entrepreneurs not just a direction, but the means to grow. Around this same time, I started my podcast, Dmac Pods. It was a hobby, but one problem kept surfacing: creating viral clips was eating hours I didn't have as a college student. I knew there had to be a better way. With a background in computer science, I built a product that automatically found and edited viral clips.
That's what Zophous is today: a platform that helps creators launch and grow at a fraction of what it would cost to hire an entire team.
From idea to impact
The Idea is Born
Zophous began as a business plan generator, a survey-driven tool to help aspiring entrepreneurs discover the right industry and business idea based on their talents and interests.
Expanding the Vision
Continued building on the business planner with TikTok integrations, laying the groundwork for social media tools to help new entrepreneurs grow their presence from day one.
Pivot to Clip Creation
Recognising the pain of manual clip editing firsthand through Dmac Pods, pivoted Zophous toward AI-powered viral clip creation and set out to figure out how to actually build it.
Full Rebuild
Moved to a new tech stack and redesigned the platform's inner workings from the ground up to handle the new scope and workload.
Public Launch
Officially launched the Zophous website to the public. Continuous improvement on features, performance, and the creator experience.
Today
Growing a community of creators and workspaces, refining the platform, and building toward the original vision: tools that let anyone launch and grow a business.
